This week's objectives are to continue working on the final report and to complete the circuit diagram for the AED circuit. Following counseling with both my advisors, I have decided to create a multi-stage circuit that combines both the conventional and coil-devised designs discussed in the project overview. The first stage will consist of powering up a capacitor, which will store the charge to be released during shock. A driver unit will amplify the charge provided by the Arduino and direct it toward the capacitor. Switches will line both the inflow and outflow stages of the circuit; during inflow, the second switch will be open (remain inactive). This allows for the build-up of charge in the capacitor without having the circuit short. During the discharge stage, the first switch is released, disconnecting the driver and capacitor pathway and causing the charge to flow to the paddles at the end of the circuit.

The values for the circuit diagram will be complied from reports of actual AEDs. Using a scaling method, I will determine the circuit values and then use an error analysis to determine the scaling factor and any adjustments to the circuit values. Once the diagram has been cross-checked between both advisors, I will begin construction of the circuit.
